Mr. and Mrs Lam Scholarship 林永義夫婦獎學金

During the global outbreak of Covid 19 pandemic and the sudden surge of the virus contractions in Taiwan, English Department feels particularly grateful that our long-term scholarship patrons, Mr and Mrs Lam from Sydney, Australia, have never failed to provide as much as they can! 34 students of English Department have benefitted greatly from the generosity of this Australian entrepreneur and philanthropist couple, Warren and Daisy Lam. While the Covid-19 situation has not being alleviated much this year, the couple decided that the scholarship could not and should not be delayed. Earlier in June, the couple contributed NT$510,000 to the Mr and Mrs Lam Scholarship, exclusive to students from English Department. Hence, 34 students have happily received the scholarship. Warren and Daisy used to come to Wenzao to award the scholarship recipients each year. In 2020, as Australia imposed a national lockdown to ban its citizens from being mobile home and abroad, they were unable to come to Wenzao for awarding the students the scholarship. We look forward to the Mr and Mrs Lam Scholarship awarding ceremony next year live at Wenzao, and we can thereby welcome and thank them wholeheartedly. As Mr Warren Lam celebrated his birthday the other day, English Department, along with this year’s scholarship recipients, would like to wish Mr and Mrs Lam an abundance of health and happiness!

As the scholarship recipients could not meet Mr and Mrs Lam in person this year, some of them sent out their personal photo and their appreciation cards to express their gratefulness.
