Talk given by Professor Bi-Yu Chang, Faculty Member of SOAS, University of London-倫敦大學亞非學院張必瑜教授講座

Professor Bi-Yu Chang, Deputy Director of Centre for Taiwan Studies at SOAS, University of London, gave a talk on ‘Becoming Taiwanese: Identity and Social Studies Education in Taiwan’ on Nov 1 afternoon. Based on a former research topic on how Taiwanese identity shifted through different historical times since the then Nationalist government retreated to Taiwan, Professor Chang presented her research result via comparing and contrasting the social studies textbooks she had collected. The talk was informative and resonated with the audience attending the talk.
