Highlights from the 2024 English Drama Contest: Preserve Green Earth, Innovate Precious Earth

On December 11, the 2024 English Drama Contest was held in Gongjian Hall (K1). Third- and fourth-year classes from the Junior College demonstrated their creativity and talent through a series of captivating and thought-provoking drama performances. Each performance was meticulously crafted, combining innovative storytelling, dynamic acting, and impressive stagecraft. The students brought their ideas to life through vivid portrayals, all aligning with this year’s theme: “Preserve Green Earth, Innovate Precious Earth.” This theme was closely related to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Goal 13: Climate Action, Goal 15: Life on Land, Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy. Through their performances, participants expressed their support for these global objectives, promoting sustainability and innovation for a better planet. They creatively illustrated the importance of environmental stewardship, highlighting the need for collective action to preserve natural resources and inspiring others to take meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future.

We extend our congratulations to all participating classes and award winners. Each team’s dedication made them the brightest stars on stage!

The Department of English also expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the organizing committee, the English Association of Junior College, whose hard work ensured the smooth running of the event. Their meticulous planning, dedication, and seamless coordination were instrumental in creating a memorable and successful drama contest. Furthermore, we thank the three judges for their invaluable contributions: Professor Elena Yakovleva, Professor Yi-Chi Liu, and Professor Lori Wang. Their expertise, thoughtful evaluation, and constructive feedback played a crucial role in supporting and encouraging young talent, contributing significantly to the success of the event.
