The 2025 Wenzao Cup Intramural English Speech and Storytelling Contests for High School Students

The 2025 Wenzao Cup Intramural English Speech and Storytelling Contests for High School Students were successfully held in the Gongjian Hall on May 7 and May 14, respectively.

In the English Speech Contest, students delivered compelling speeches on topics such as “emotional well-being” and “regular attendance.” Drawing upon personal experiences or offering thought-provoking ideas, the contestants demonstrated both depth of thought and fluency of expression. Whether from the first or second year of the junior college division, each participant impressed the judges and audience alike by courageously stepping onto the stage, articulating their viewpoints with clarity and confidence. In the eyes of all present, every student who overcame their fears and spoke with conviction was truly a champion.

In the English Storytelling Contest, participants presented highly creative adaptations of classic fairy tales and legends. Their voices became their most powerful storytelling tools—through nuanced intonation, emotional layering, and vivid narration, they led the audience into imaginative worlds of their own making. The performances offered a delightful storytelling experience, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.

The English Department sincerely thanks all the participants, supervisors, judges, and supporters, and would like to specifically acknowledge the English Association of the Junior College for its invaluable contribution to the success of both contests—a collective success made possible by everyone involved and one that celebrated the students’ growth, imagination, and linguistic talents.
