The Lam Scholarship: A Lasting Gift

The 114AY Mr. & Mrs. Lam Scholarship Awarding Ceremony (114林永義夫婦獎學金頒獎典禮), took place on December 30, 2025, from 3:30 to 4:30 PM at Room A313. The event opened with a warm welcome and introductions of the distinguished guests; these included Mr. Lam Yong-Yi (Warren) 林永義先生, Mrs. Lam (Daisy) 董秀玲女士, President Chuang Hui-Ling 莊慧玲校長, Sister Hsu Hua-Ying 許華英修女, OICC Dean Janet Weng 翁一珍國際長, Chair Aiden Yeh 葉佰賢主任, Deputy Chair Lee Yi-Ying 李怡瑩副主任, and Deputy Chair Chen Kai-Yun 陳凱芸副主任. Their presence seemed to set a thoughtful tone, suggesting how meaningful this gathering was for both students and faculty alike.

The program then moved into a series of speeches; President Chuang offered a few encouraging words followed by the presentation of a certificate of appreciation, capturing smiles and the kind of moments that make you pause and appreciate effort. Sister Hsu Hua-Ying and Prof. Yeh each shared reflections, which may suggest how the school values both character and commitment alongside academic achievement. Then, Mr. Warren Lam addressed the audience; their remarks likely reminded many of the tangible impact of generosity and how a single initiative can ripple through student life.

The mood then shifted as students Wang Chen-Xuan 王辰瑄, Zhu Zhi-Yun 朱芷芸 as a duo, along with Diego Tsai, performed a short guitar and vocal piece; it was a simple moment, yet it brought warmth and a relaxed energy that balanced the formality of the event.

Soon after, attention turned to the scholarship recipients. Twenty students received their awards in groups of four, and as each group stepped forward for certificates and photos, the moment highlighted both individual effort and a shared sense of pride.

The ceremony wrapped up with a large group photo of guests and awardees; carefully arranged, yet still filled with genuine smiles. In the end, the afternoon not only marked student achievement but also quietly underscored the lasting impact of Mr. and Mrs. Lam’s generosity.
