Welcome, Junior College Freshmen! Embarking on an Exciting Journey in the English Department

The English Department held a welcoming party for first-year students in the five-year junior college division on September 16. The event began with warm remarks from Department Chair Aiden Yeh, who encouraged the freshmen to make the most of their five years at Wenzao. She reminded them to use English actively, step beyond their comfort zones, and take the initiative to explore new opportunities. Deputy Chair Joyce Tsai and homeroom teachers Angie Mei, Hui-chen Hsieh, and Ya-hui Guo also joined the event to welcome and support the new students.

Members of the 58th English Department Student Association also gave the freshmen an enthusiastic welcome. They introduced the association’s responsibilities, shared how they organize departmental events and serve fellow students, and invited the freshmen to become involved! Their friendly and energetic introduction helped the new students learn more about campus life and the many opportunities to build friendships, develop teamwork skills, and contribute to the department.

The afternoon continued with lively team games, including guessing songs and collecting assigned objects. Competing as classes, the freshmen worked closely with their classmates to complete each challenge. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and energy filled the venue with excitement and laughter. The welcoming party concluded with memorable group photos of the freshmen and their classes, bringing the event to a joyful close and marking an exciting beginning to their journey in the English Department.

英文系於9月16日為五專部一年級新生舉辦迎新活動。活動由系主任葉佰賢致上溫暖的歡迎詞揭開序幕，勉勵新生珍惜在文藻五年的學習時光。她鼓勵同學積極使用英語、勇敢走出舒適圈，並主動探索各種學習與成長的機會。副主任 蔡佳蓉及導師梅馨云、謝惠軫與郭雅惠也共同參與活動，歡迎新生加入英文系大家庭，並給予支持與鼓勵。

第58屆英文系學會的成員也以滿滿的熱情迎接新生。他們介紹系學會的工作內容，分享如何籌辦系上活動及服務同學，並誠摯邀請新生加入系學會！親切又充滿活力的介紹，讓新生更加了解校園生活，也認識到系上提供的多元機會，包括拓展人際關係、培養團隊合作能力，以及為系上貢獻心力。

下午的活動以熱鬧有趣的團隊遊戲延續歡樂氣氛，包括猜歌及蒐集指定物品等挑戰。新生以班級為單位進行競賽，與同班同學通力合作，完成各項任務。大家展現出的熱情、活力與團隊精神，讓現場充滿歡笑與熱烈氣氛。活動最後，全體新生及各班一同留下珍貴的團體合照，為迎新活動畫下歡樂的句點，也象徵他們將在英文系展開一段令人期待的新旅程。
