Mr. & Mrs. Lam Scholarship Application
英文系澳洲林永義、董秀玲夫婦獎學金 開始申請!
※錄取人數:不拘(由林永義、董秀玲夫婦決定)。
※申請資格:
1.本獎學金提供英文系各學制在校學生(包括二技、四技、五專、進修部及碩士班)。本獎學金旨在支持本地台灣學生,特別是來自弱勢背景者。
2.鼓勵大一、專一新生踴躍申請,僅需提交自我推薦函、導師或授課教師推薦函、一篇申請文章,可選擇附加影片(見第10項)以獲得額外加分。
3.113學年度第二學期學業成績平均80分以上(含)且無任何科目不及格。若未達80分者,仍可申請並向林氏夫婦說明個人狀況。
4.113學年度第二學期操行成績平均達80分以上(含)。
5.113學年度第二學期無棄修任何科目(成績單不得出現「棄修」字樣)。
6.113學年度第二學期修習學分數:大學部10學分、專科部一至三年級20學分、專科部四至五年級12學分以上(含)。
7.導師或授課教師英文推薦函一封。必繳!
8.任何有助於林氏夫婦了解申請者的文字說明或證明(請以電腦繕打;英文尤佳)。
9.英文書寫一篇(1000字以內)文章,題目為 「My Hometown in 20 Years」。必繳!
今年的作文題目邀請學生展望家鄉的未來,思考未來二十年可能的社會、文化、經濟及環境變化,以及英語在快速發展的數位時代中所扮演的角色,並反思這些變化可能對你個人的影響。
10.鼓勵申請者(非強制)提交一段短片(1~3分鐘),以創意方式展示自己為何值得獲得此獎學金,以及獎學金對其學業與個人目標的幫助。提交作品可在審核過程中獲得額外加分。若影片檔案過大無法作為附件寄送,學生可將影片上傳至線上平台並提供連結。此外,學生也可提供社群媒體(如 Instagram)的連結,前提是內容適合審閱。
※申請日期: 2025年9月15日(星期一)至2025年10月30日(星期四)晚上12點止,逾期恕不受理。
※申請方式: 請至附件下載區下載報名表,填妥後連同相關資料一併繳交。所有資料須裝訂整齊,以紙本方式交至英文系系辦助理 Lily。
※申請結果: 將於2025年12月初公告於英文系網頁。
※獎學金頒發: 通過審核者將另行通知,如無法出席將不核發獎學金,並須依規定著正裝出席領獎典禮。
※注意事項: 申請資料如有空格未填寫或文件未裝訂(請使用迴紋針),恕不受理。
Department of English – Mr. & Mrs. Lam Scholarship (Australia) Applications Now Open!
※Number of Recipients: No fixed limit (to be decided by Mr. and Mrs. Lam).
※Eligibility:
1.Open to current students of the Department of English across all programs (2-year, 4-year, 5-year junior college, continuing education, and master’s). The scholarship seeks to support local Taiwanese students, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, with local applicants given priority.
2.Freshman students are especially encouraged to apply.(For freshman applicants, only Personal Statement、Recommendation Letter from Advisor or Course Instructor and an essay are required, while a video submission (see #10) may be included for extra points.)
3.Second semester, Academic Year 113, with an average academic grade of 80 or above and no failed subjects. Students with averages below 80 may still apply by explaining their personal circumstances to Mr. and Mrs. Lam.
4.Second semester, Academic Year 113, conduct grade average of 80 or above.
5.No course withdrawals in the second semester (the transcript must not show “withdrawn”)
6.Minimum credit requirements in the second semester: undergraduate – 10 credits; junior college year 1–3 – 20 credits; junior college year 4–5 – 12 credits or above.
7.One letter of recommendation in English from a class advisor or course instructor. Required!
8.Any additional written statement or supporting documents that may help Mr. and Mrs. Lam better understand the applicant (typed; English preferred).
9.Applicants are required to submit an English essay (maximum 1,000 words) on the topic “My Hometown in 20 Years”. Required!
This year’s essay topic asks students to envision the future of their hometown, considering possible social, cultural, economic, and environmental changes over the next two decades, as well as the role of English in a rapidly evolving digital era, and how these changes might impact you personally.
10.Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a short video presentation (1~3 minutes) to creatively showcase why they deserve the scholarship and how it supports their academic and personal goals. If the video file is too large to send as an attachment, students may upload it online and share the URL with us. Alternatively, they may provide a link to a social media platform such as Instagram, provided the content is appropriate for review.
※Application Period: September 15, 2025 (Monday) – October 30, 2025 (Thursday), 12:00 midnight. Late submissions will not be accepted.
※Application Procedure: Complete the application form (available for download in the attachment section) and submit it with all required documents. Please ensure all materials are neatly bound in hard copy and submit to Lily, Department of English office assistant.
※Announcement of Results: December 2025 on the department website.
※Award Ceremony: Those who pass the review will be notified separately. Those unable to attend will not receive the scholarship and must follow the regulations by wearing formal attire to the award ceremony.
※Notes: Applications with blank fields or unbound documents will not be accepted.
